SKS and left handed shooter?

I am a left handed shooter, and I am wondering how an SKS would treat me...

I have fired lots of AR-15 and they are great because of the deflector. I have also fired FN FAL and they are good too, the shell just jumps out nice and neatly. Do the SKS tend to throw out the shells towards the back at all? Will I be hit between the eyes?

I'm a lefty as well, no such problems shooting the SKS so far. Brass is ejected clear of my face and has yet to hit me.

I'm a lefty, and I don't think you need to worry about the brass.....mine would go out and up, with an emphasis on the up to my 3 o'clock. Wear safety glasses though.

My wife's a mutant...errr lefty. She tried my SKS for the first time last weekend, worked very well for her.

Yeah checking out the deflector of an AR after a couple 100 of rounds tells me that story loud and clear!

I have an AR, the upper is a DPMS target upper with no deflector or trap door. The brass flies to my right and behind me. Never hits me in the face and I shoot lefty.

No problem with an SKS.

As a matter of fact, I can't remember my SKS ever putting two casings in the same direction.

I've tried that too, and no problem for a lefty.

Just watch your right hand's thumb, position it clear of the bolt carrier handle's traveling path

ive got both sks and cz , also a south paw never had any issues what so ever !

i am also left handed and i have fired the Norinco 311 (AR15 copy with SP1 upper) without the deflector. 300+ rounds so far and none of the case has hit me. Just using regular 55 gr Winchester whitebox. Maybe i get a lefty friendly?!

Most SKSs eject spent cases WAY forward. I doubt a left handed shooter would get hit.

I shot an FN in the army and once, while at the prone, a hot brass went right down my shirt. I did a push up fast!

Never had an issue shooting left with any semi-auto.
