SKS as US Army Backup Rifle...

this guy is nuttier than squirrel ####! wow an sks with "detachable clips"????
well i guess the clips are sort of detachable lol i mean once you load the rounds of the clip, it just slides right out of the stripper clip guide, and can be easily tossed, or shoved in a dump bag lol!!! or how about the clips for my carcano rifle, i just open the bolt insert the loaded clip ala garand style, and after i fire my last shot it falls out the bottom lol!!!!

Wow, it was like every single thing that guy said was a fail. I don't even know where to begin with tearing apart that video. For starters, the concept of carrying of second full length rifle is just stupid. As others have said, if you're in the position that you can pick up ammunition off of dead soldiers, you can pick up their guns too. Now even if you can take a more accurate rifle with you, if you're in a situation where you've run out of ammo, the enemy is probably right in your face, and accuracy isn't as important as simply sending lead down range.

Not to mention, does this guy have any idea how much s**t soldiers have to carry with them in the first place? Clearly not. All the extra weight spent in carrying an extra rifle, can be better spent carrying extra ammunition.

As for accuracy, I really had to hit my head for that one. For starters, a lightweight plastic stock is definitely not more accurate then a wooden stock, if anything its less accurate because of the lighter weight. As for a pistol grip, that certainly doesn't increase accuracy. It may be more comfortable to shoot with (it is with me), but a rifle with a pistol grip is no more inherently accurate then a rifle without one.

As for the stripper clips, they've been around for a lot longer then the SKS, and while they are great with iron sights, you naturally start running into issues if you have any type of optic on top of the rifle. It's just as easy to load with a magazine, and doesn't take much more room then the stripper clip.

But but but... taken off his comments section... 28 YEARS in the military!!!

Just out of curiosity, what are your qualifications to be making such pronouncements about what the U.S. military 'should' do? In other words, what are your bona fides?

This guy is so technotactical he's completely forgotten that half of the guys in Iraq have AK 74's with the 5.45 x 39. Egads!! Now we have to carry an SKS and a AK 74 as back-up to our back up gun!

And in the interest of trying to get some brains back into us, here is some helpful info.
M855 Ball ammo weighs 12 grams per round. An SKS weighs 3 kg, or 3000 grams. Therefore, if my grade 9 math is correct, you can ditch the SKS, and carry an extra 250 rounds of .223, which means you will not run out of ammo, and safely make it back to base in order to watch the latest episode of TechnoTactical TV on YouTube.

My AR has never made "the dreaded click" before the bolt locks to the rear, is something wrong with it???

I actually saw this video years ago when i got my sks, came up when i was scouring youtube for any sks related videos. made me laugh then, and still makes me laugh now, thanks for the laugh again :D

Boy, are you guys stoopid.
He says right here howits gonna happen:
"NO, you FIRST have to have the GEAR to SOLVE the problem. UNIT VEHICLES WILL CARRY THE M16A5 CONVERSION KITS. VULTURE TASK designated units would practice and perfect collecting enemy ammo and weapons into their VEHICLES AND TRAILERS. "

SEE?!!! Vulture Units, with Unit Vehicles, to carry CONVERSION KITS ( instead of 5.56 ammo) and they would PRACTICE AND PERFECT with their VEHICLES AND TRAILERS. ( again, void of 5.56 ammo, which would have negated the whole sticky matter in the first place.)

JEEEZZZ...YOU GUYS IS SO STOOPID!!
