SKS at Lever Arms

The ammos cheaper in your neck of the woods! 150 is a good deal. I've gone thru a crate since September. Easier done than said. Buy two. And the sks at Lever sounds like the real Mckoy. If they are 20.5". No ones ever heard of a 18.5". I guess they cut some down to 18.5" to save money back in China and still be legal here or the owner of Lever set up a deal on his own at the armoury over there

I was in there today and bought one, its the 20" barrel, all matching numbers. The barrel is also threaded, not pinned, there was only 3 on the rack so I picked the best one, they might have had more in the back.

matching wood?

Is anyone going to lever arms to pick one up soon? maybe (if you have a good knowledge of the sks) you could hand pick one for me also ... I'm in montreal, and it would be a real ##### to get the bottom pick of the litter.

If you're going to buy one, call P&D. I'm pretty sure that I just read that they have some of these guns in stock. Cough, they're CGN sponsors, cough. :)

The 18.5 SKS's were shipped entirely without Lever's knowledge.

He's got a bunch he can't sell now because of this problem. If you need SKS parts, call Lever Arms.

The SKS's currently in stock at Lever Arms are the 20", full military ones with bayonets, made up for a war in the mid 60's between PRC and the USSR that never came and in storage since then. Some are all matching # and wood, most are mismatching # and wood, a very few have rare factory codes and even fewer have early Russian components or receivers. The PLA was not too concerned about the esthetics or future collectibility of these guns.

Unfortunately, there is no "hand pick" service at Lever Arms, the choice is whatever is on the rack on a given day. Straight out of the original crate.

If you call and schmooze the guys there, they MIGHT try and accomodate you. But as Lever Arms is mostly retail, they may not have time to do this.

Hi Emmab,

Last bunch of Lever SKS does have SHORTER barrel. Mine is one of them. Not sure it's 19" or 18.5"...have to measure it.

Michael

The one I bought has matching wood and all the numbers match. I have already stripped the old finish and dyed it walnut and have put a coating of tung oil on it. The reciever has a factory code stamped on it, A triangle with a 26 inside, it has some chinese characters that translate to type 56 and the serial # indicated it was made in 1964.

post a pic!!!!!

I was in Lever Arms today, and saw a SKS-D for 399. Is that good price for it? They say it's the last one they got. Looked nice. And I think they give you this green commie hat with it too.

Its in a million pieces right now, as soon as I get it back together I'll post a picture. The wood is much darker on this one then on the old one I used to own, it was almost orange. It will be a few more days before I finish oiling the stock.

Well I think 400 for a D is a little steep. Unless it comes with a $50.00 30/5 mag. Mine came with two tens. I paid 300 and thought that was high. The Americans drool over our norc D's with the AK removable mag cause they're banned down there due to Norc trying to slip something in that wasn't allowed. No more Norcs. And the D is an after market product made for civies and I believe norc might be the only manufacturer.

The SKS D at Lever Arms comes with 2 - 30/5 mags, 2 - 5 round mags and a set of Chinese AK chest webbing.

the last D model I sold, lightly used, with 5 rnd and a pinned 30rnd mag, no bayonet sold here on this site for 325... if you can get a new one for 399 with the goodies it apparently comes with.... buy it.... or i just might be you to it ;)
