Omg man plz stop lol
He's a troll. We should stop feeding him. Let people complain to him that his idea failed hard, and he is the reason why their optic is broken.
Omg man plz stop lol
i can free float my sks barrel by removing 2 bolts. I plan to try it in the coming weeks... not sure what the accuracy outcome will be. But im very interested to find out.
As per the SKS manual of arms, bayonet should be in the unfolded position when shooting for accuracy.
+1 on what Pinky said.
The mount used was the Crazy Ivan drill and tap. The way the mount
was engineered it cannot move up, down or front to rear
when removed or replaced. It retains zero ...
Interested too, hope you post results, would you not have to remove the gas tube to achieve a true float?? And how are you going to secure the stock in without the ferrule?? Now I'm really curious lol
Best option is the stock iron sight and zero mods![]()
It will be a free float as much as it can be with the gas sytem attached haha. So not AR DI level free float, or true bolt action free float. BUT technically nothing will make contact with the stock forward of the chamber. Only thing holding the gun into the stock will be the trigger group and a super thorough bed job of the entire reciever. So im alttle concerned that the front will slowly hop out of the bedding. I didnt originally design the gun to be shot free floated.

A very nice looking rifle. What would be even better would be a video shot at 100 yards or more with live hits showing how well it shoots.
Shooting with the bayonet "locked out" if anything increases the weight by the leverage effect. Weight on the end of the barrel is a good thing, removing the weight ( bayonet ) is a bad thing.None of my bayonets jar around.
Does your SKS barrel still have a bayonet lug ? It looks like you cut it off.
oh trust me your bayonets are moving about
The whole rifle is moving about. lol
So you didn't notice that the spring pressure holding the bayo is overcome slightly by recoil and even with a bit of pressure from the rest it still jiggles about throwing off the harmonics of the recoil pulse?
but if its locked in the out position it is now retained a lot better.... if its removed entirely it is even better at getting consistency in the recoil pulse. consistency is accuracy.
The weight on the barrel remains consistent while the bayonet remains attached, the harmonics are not affected
A metrenome is a devise musicians practice with to improve their timing.Ok so you know nothing of harmontics... i'll Keep that in mind for future conversions....
I would love to see you shoot a c7 with and without bayonet and with and without m203... See what changing barrel harmonics through (well secured) attachments can do to groupings and zero.
Do you know what a metrenome is? What happens when you move the weight around?
What do you think happens when you change weighting on a barrel of a gun through attachments or shifting mass further in or out? Imagine if that weight was nt as firmly attached to the stick, would it keep consistent time or develope a misstep?
For the record..
I already made a thread about it months ago, posted pictures... Dont think a video made on my flip phone would bring anything to the table.. although a grainy video of me shooting sure would prove im not "cheating" eh?

The weight is not moved around, the bayonet is attached in only one place .
A grainy video is no use to anyone, shoot a good quality one with audio showing live accurate hits on a gong at 100 yards of more, that way there will be no doubt that you are right, and I am wrong to doubt you.![]()
This is an excellent video which explains why it's unlikely a receiver mounted optic is a good idea on an SKS.

Hold on thats what you get out of that video?
That video is about not putting stuff on your barrel that effects ocolation and harmonics... The exact opposite of what you are doing with your barrel mounts.
Gong hits (6x8 inch plate) at 100m lol thats pretty easy thats the warm up site confirmation i usually take 7.62x39 out to 500m .
Take a look at my thread and the group i posted. Thats what an accuraized sks can do.
The video shows why it's a waste of time trying to harmonise an SKS barrel.
Anyone can post a picture of a piece of paper with holes in it, it proves absolutely nothing.
