I have to SKSes that I stripped down for parts; One Chinese and one Russian. All that's left is the bare receiver, barrel, front sight/bayo lug, gas block, stock ferrule, and rear sight base. Both rifles where missing gas tubes and receiver covers.

The Russian is in very nice condition and the bore looks excellent. The Chinese has seen some heavy use.

I'm thinking about completely disassembling the Chinese and selling off the parts. The Russian would make a good candidate for a barrel/receiver swap if someone has a shot-out barrel.

What are they worth on the Canadian market? Suggestions?

$80 or so for a barreled receiver with the front sight would be tops, I'd only pay $50 personally.

That's what I had in mind for value. The Russian is actually an Izhevesk :(. The previous owner had a receiver cover scope mount on it and a Tapco gas tube. The parts will serve as spares for my other Izzies.

The Chinese one is going to be completely stripped. I have a spare Chinese blade bayo assembly that will work well with the front sight as a nice restoration part.

That's a damn shame.

Is the Chinese SKS really that shot out?

Well... Not shot out, but seen lots of corrosive ammo. Actually, the original owner never cleaned the grease out of it which protected the parts from rust. The bolt, trigger group, and sight block are still filled with grease. The bass block and piston are nothing but burnt cosmo and powder.
