SKS bipods

Hi, looking for some feedback on bipods for the sks. I am aware of two mounting solutions, one on the barrel and one on the bayo mount. I am hesitant to put anything on the barrel and therefore leaning towards the bayo option. Anyone try this set-up? Comments would be much appreciated, particularly with regard to accuracy pre vs post instal.

I removed my bayonet, filled the gap with epoxy, screwed in a stud and mounted a Harris bipod. I really the setup and it served me well in 3-gun competition for a couple years. It's a shame to lose the bayonet but I thought it was better to dump the weight for a competition gun and worry about the zombies later.

Just use the mono pod it came with

Bipod will shift your point of impact, by 1-2"
So if you plan to shoot it standing up as well as of a bipod, keep that in mind.

Harris bipod...mount on underside of forearm...never mount anything on a bbl other than a sight or a bbl band for a sling
