sks bolt not staying open ?

I have a sks with a t6 tapco stock and tapco mags . If I pull the bolt all the way back it does not stay open (with no mag), is this normal?

I saw a video where a guy pulled his bolt back it stayed open then he inserted the tapco mag pulled the bolt and it went front.


the only way it stays open (with no mag) is if I push up the pin.
 
That's the normal behavior for the SKS. The mag follower pushes the hold-open tab up and that's what holds the bolt open, allowing you to load your mag with a strip. Not sure what the other guy did.
