Thanks to the poster who filled us in on buying a SKS on 20 April 17. Put it on layaway earlier and Picked it up today Its a Russian refurb Got it for 219 and got 50 gift card back because if you spent over 200 today when I picked it up . I want to thank the Guy who posted that they were giving the cards out not bad for a plinker .
The prices varied between the CTC stores in Windsor by 20 bucks The east end had guns in better shape at 20 bucks less and their ammo is also cheaper

Might have been me, I am heading in now to pick up 4,, $199. Minus the $50 promo, great deal, these will likely be the last ones I buy due to the UN marking scheme! 2 of the ones I have on hold are non refurb but non matching mag. In pretty good shape!

Nice deal. Thanks a lot for sharing that. Thats just the incentive I needed to convince myself I need a new gun ! Plus with the Savage rebates now too I would be a fool not to!!

I just got back from the St Catharines location that stocks firearms. The Chinese SKS there (4 of them I looked at) I would not have paid $100 for regardless of any $50 gift card. Not a single matching number on any of the key parts. Cracked stocks etc...They want $270 for the Russian's. In better shape but still overpriced IMO.

Good deal for 199
Yes and if you buy in bulk you may get a small discount!!;) got 3 tonight, 2-57's and a 51,,, and a lawnmower!!! The wife fought me on the lawnmower not the SKS!! Actually the she used her pal for the SKS and now I can go in tomorrow to pick up another one using the 4 promo cards!!! There is a 55 in nice shape, Parkerized, but a nice job and it is a tight rifle!
What year did you get?

Windsor had some nice rifles not all matching ser # but wood was in good shape and blued not painted Russian Tulas. Whats weird is there were different prices at each of the CTC's in Windsor and the cheapest was East Windsor and they were in the best shape

so, I went back on the 21rst and didnt get the 55, my buddy there, took me in back and we went threw about 50 sks and I got a nice blued 1952, still has all the cartouches on it and the bore is good, there were about 7 more blued ones and 2 more non refurb ' as far as I can tell) still there. i paid about $4 in ctc money and 4 $50 promo cards plus about $12 of ctc money from my card. so i didnt pay a cent out of pocket for the last 1952!

The Manager in CT in Bancroft is totally ANAL. Wont let you in back, wont get or grab even 1 or 2 more from the back. They usually only have 2 on the shelf, & thats your choice. Annoying bcuz I know there is allot of them back there. There is a 1950 on the shelf, really interesting wood-but looked closer, Stock & mag were not matching, so that sorta killed it. Will try to go Up the chain & ask if I can {somehow} get a peek at the whole she-bang they got hiding back there! The 1950 gives me Hope- maybe a 49 is hiding back there. I got the $50 card too, & I didnt even know, a lucky coincidence.

They wouldn't let me in the back either. The first one they handed me was an 1954 laminate that was in rough shape. They didn't want to give me the demo so the one from the back I rejected because it was non matching and ugly.I finally snagged the shelf demo: 1952 blued all matching Tula for 170 dollars plus my 50 dollar promo card $219 total. No sling but came with the stripper clips and cleaning kit plus oiler.Nicely pinned as well.

Yea, North Sylva is keeping the slings nowctoo I guess, first it was the mag pouches now the slings! That is an awesome price!

Sounds like a good deal, but how many does a person need? It's not like they are prone to wear or breakage. lol
At $190 minus the $50 card and points,,, as many as I can afford! If the firearms marking scam happens I can always get my money back if I want, still trying to sort out the collection! I will have a few to trade with if needed! An sks in any half descent condition for $140.is worth investing in! IMHO.

My thoughts as well. They sell for 400/600$ in USA and their value is slowly increasing here. Its worth buying some more at that price and hold on to them for a while
