SKS Combo: Case of 1200 rds $399

Just ordered mine, Hope the SKS gods favour me….

I finally unpacked mine.

It was clean of cosmoline already, nice, with a laminate stock and a nice black finish that had very little wear.

After a quick cleanup to take the gritty feeling out of the bolt, it feels good. I had never torn an SKS apart, so it was a fun adventure but surprisingly easy.

Sliced my palm good on the bayonet lug, despite a warning online to watch out for it.

Just need to test it out now, to see if the firing pin is working fine.

If when you have it apart if you shake the bolt and hear the firing pin move around then you are all good. The only problem comes from people who don't clean theirs and their firing pin gets gunked up and stuck

Mine arrived yesterday! Its a 1954 tula. Stock is laminate(I think?) and in great shape. Evidence of refurbishment on the stock(###xx'd out serial number) all the metal looks brand new. I'll post a Photo soon. Very happy with it!

You won't be disappointed! The very first gun I ever bought after getting my license was also a Russian SKS {like 20 years ago;}...now I got 4..2 Russian, 2 Chinese! Just took my latest one out back for a few shots. Alwayz feel better afterwards! ;)

Seconded. Just got my license and I'm feeling an awful lack of SKS in my life.

It was moving fine, but I still just loaded 2 to start.

No bang on bolt release; one bang per trigger pull. Good to go!

I really need to get behind this gun a bit more. I was way high compared to where I thought I was aiming. Must be holding it wrong.

The typical "battle sights" are actually sighted in for 300m, so you're probably not too far off if you're high. If you move the sight forward to the first notch you get to the 100m sight, but all the way back is the 300m setting.
