So I got tired of the tacticol stuff on my SKS's so I got a copy made of a euro SKS-D stock made x3. Two I got made the same as original and the third I got made with the rear section left untouched for another sks stock project I have in mind. Here are the roughed in pics for the stocks I have in progress. The last 2 hrs I spent hand sanding adn dremelling the stocks to a tight fit for the receiver and trigger group. I now am going to sand the stock and finish it and then the other stock is getting started for a different twist on this idea. New stocks are made from maple by another fellow to about 80% of original so it can be fitted and finished how I want by myself. I also had an extra one inch added to the LOP for anicer feel to boot. I will be making the rear of the stock hollow for storage but it will have more space over the original due to stock thickness and profile. I may use another butt plate other than factory though and am looking for ideas. MAybe an M14 rear so it has a larger opening.
