live with it cos its not worth the headache of replacing the front sight/bayo lug besides it gonna be a bugger to find the part , i tried .
I didn't find it hard at all. I picked up a front site/bayo lug from a regular Norc SKS at a local gunshop for $10. I removed the two pins from the one on my SKS-D, heated it, pounded it off (beat it up but who cares?) and then pounded the replacement back on with a rubber mallet. Took about 45mins. Now my SKS-D has a bayo lug.
I didn't bother altering the stock. Just install the spike bayo upsidedown and the flat part will just rest on the stock. You may want to alter the stock for a blade bayo though.
