The SKS-D takes standard AK-47 mags. As millwright said, the rear lug needs to be filed a bit on each side, otherwise it will hang up on the trigger group and be a PITA to remove. They dont lock in or come out as nicely as an 858, but they do work. I paid $425 for mine with 3 mags and a few accessories, they seem to start around $350 and go up from there depending on condition, accessories and just how *rare* the seller thinks it is. Ive seen people asking over $700 for one. I wouldnt say they are a value, unless you really like the AK mags, but you lose the last shot hold open and stripper clip guide in the bolt as the AK mags do not have the little tab to lift the bolt catch. They're still fun and I'm in the process of mounting a 3-9x40 Leupold on mine, with detachable mags and the ejection window mod they are the perfect SKS for scoping.
