Hi there,
I have a quick question for you all. I have an SKS D which I just purchased. I have four 30/5 rd mags for it. All will seat in the rifle properly, and all will function. However, only 1 mag will come out properly when released. The rest are stuck fast and take considerable banging on to release from the mag well. Has anyone encountered anything similar? If so, is there a quick fix for this? I am not sure what part of the mag is jamming up.
Any advice you could give would be helpful.
Thanks,
Mike

Your sks-m or sks -d are not to spec for the ak mags, so you will need to grind the tab on the ak mag to fit your sks, do it slowly.

If yours is a SKS MC5D that could be part of the problem. I found the mag system on that model not to reliable. I sold the rifle...

Sks d

The stock is the original factory wood. The mags are both Chinese and East European. How do I tell if it is a MC5 rifle?
And if I am going to grind the tab (I assume on the back top of the mag) which part do I grind? The sides, the back, the top ???

BBB is right, the tab on the back of the mag requires grinding on the sides. If you lock the mag in and look up into the mag well, you will see the tab catches on the sides of the trigger group. Put a slight downward angle on each side and slowly remove more until they unlock cleanly.
