Recently purchased T6 collapsible stock for my SKS-D. Problem is that the magazine well formed steel liner can't be used with the new stock and also, fwd of clip there is a large space in the lower forestock that exposes the barrel that I think is filled if you use a specific 5 rnd detachable clip. Does anyone know of a company that makes a filler piece for this area and a liner of the correct size or do I need to consult a gunsmith?

The instructions with the stock should give you some direction about filing the mag well etc to fit properly on the SKS D. Most stocks were made for the other SKS and require a few mods to fit properly on the D model. What brand/type of stock do you have?
The stock is a T6 Tapco collapsible. It was mentioned to me about the mods to the mag well, but I didn't see anything that needed to be modded as the stock fit perfectly except for this void. It didn't come with any instructions either. I thought about silicone as well and someone also mentioned spray foam insulation, but I'm looking to have a more sano look to it. You know, something a little cleaner. Open to more ideas!
