Besides International Firearms (Century International), did anyone else sell the SKS D with detachable mags back in the day?

I bought one at Complete Gunsmithing aroind 2003 in St. John’s . NL. $229 plus tax new in the box

seems some renewed interest in SKS-D type rifles since the last couple rounds of bans.
Lever Arms sold them back in the 90's onwards. Century Arms, Beta Arms and a few other importers in the US played around with creating different SKS-D models. There are some very good SKS-D rifles out there and like everything from China, some lemons too. I've owned a few of both over the years.

I want to say Things Military in Calgary did as well, the 1500 round case of ammo was more than the rifle at that time.

since T81 and M10X got banned. SKS-D and MC-5D are the only two mag fed 7.62 left. they are selling for $1400-1500 on GP.

In 90 - 91 the now closed Le Baron store on Yonge St, Toronto had lots of them new in the box. All of the examples I saw were a very light brown or a slightly yellowish light brown colour. I'm mentioning their colour because I I don't think I've seen any other sks rifles since then that had that particular colour

Thanks, I wondered if these were a widely available gun, since I dont see many kicking around.

I purchased investor packs of 5 @ Lever Arms Back when Allen Lever owned the place
Also picked up a couple of the $99.00 Garands back then too 😁
we bought a whole pallet of SKS rifles from old man Lever , split between 4 of us. He even threw in a 1/2 a skid of ammo crates to go with it. Was a mixed lot of MC5D with the standard mag release and monte carlo stocks and the typical beta arms sks-d with ak style mag release.

All the ones I seen and handled all had the same hi quality light coloured fence post wood.
A type of Asian birch wood I believe.
The best part was it did not matter what you did to it , it would only get better.
I did strip and stain a couple for customers, and they turned out nice, a walnut color, but did not really pay.
Used a alcohol based spray stain and a air brush for grain.
Now if a fellow had a crate full or 2 , it would be cost effective.

Mind you the 84S was more fun to my way of thinking.

Thee DDR/BDR sold them after the wall came down. Stock was from the "Volksarme" in Eastern Germany (DDR).

I've heard the DDR had a cooperation going with the old Soviet Union in some way producing these rifles....

I got mine at the AACCA Easter gun show sometime in the early '90's IIRC. I think it was from P&D. They had several crates of them and were going for $160 at that time. Mine was a turd. Least accurate SKS I ever shot. Sold it for $650 a bunch of years ago at the same AACCA Easter show. Was glad to see it go.

Neither the USSR or DDR were producing Chinese SKS rifles with AK mag adapters. There was an important historical milestone known as the Sino-Soviet split...
