SKS D - who used to sell these

I bought my for $97 in the early 90s at that gun store that used to be 2100 block of Kingsway and Victoria in Vancouver. May be someone here remembers the name of the store?

I remember buying a regular Norinco SKS from Lever Arms for $75, carrying it out to my car uncovered and for the world to see, and put it in my trunk as is. Bizarrely, the world did not end.

The good SKS-D's with the AK mag release?

Aaaarrgggh! Am I ever pissed off that I missed out on them.

They came with 2 short (10 round) AK style magazines. They were brand new Chinese made. Over the years what model of SKS Lever had would change, some had blade bayonets, some had spike bayonets. Sometimes D models in stock sometimes not. We bought many many 1500 round cases of Norinco silver box for about $100 a case, too. But to keep things in perspective I think minimum wage was about $5/hr then.

What years were you buying them at those prices?

I would have grabbed a bunch of them for $78 each if they were BNIB.

I remember the ChiCom military SKS's from the 60's going for $149 at Levers in 2006.

I was going to buy a crate of 10 of them, but I didn't get the tax return that I thought I would. I only bought three instead.

FWIW, an 1120 round crate of Czech 7.62x39mm on stripper clips was $159 back then.

Funny, the older I get, the more I can relate to this song.
