Best 45 minutes ive ever spent on a gun. Even with my noobish dremel skills it was not hard. If you can change oil on a car this is not a mod too intimidating for you. Now i can slap in my 5 round promag and rack the bolt like nature intended:)

ya i did mine in about 30 mins, but i used an angle grinder, took my time with lots of light focused on the project. didn't let the bolt heat up too much, finished it up with some 600 sanding to "polish" the edges nicely. took it to the range, was popping mags in and out with no issues. definitely a worthwhile mod in my books and easy to do. lot's of great videos online to increase the confidence beforehand.

So you just trim it from the side? Lol that's what I did anyway for the XCR mag mod, with a bit more narrowing toward the back and a slot cut to go over the front mag lip when it locks down. A belt sander is probably the easiest tool to do the bulk of the metal removal with a bit of Dremel cleanup. Needless to say but I'll say it anyway, take out the extractor before you start grinding.

A dremel with a grinding bit did the job. I basically free handed it using a table to steady the bolt. I had to stop lots of times when the bolt got too hot and burnt my fingers. Extractor was not damaged or even touched by the grinder.
