SKS D's are worth 600.00 now???

haha yeah they did some stupid s**t back in the day.

He and 2 other guys were transporting an anti-material gun(is that what it's called? the big cal automatics that you use to shoot personnel transports)

Anyways the tractor they were using broke down, so they had to carry the damn thing across this field.

There wasn't anybody around so they thought they'd have some fun. There was this outhouse made out of straw and clay, they loaded it up and took a few shots at it; the whole thing just came down and collapsed LOL.

He said, you will never see 3 guys carrying a 200lb gun run so fast in your life

Hahahaha! You should make a whole separate thread for funny service/war stories! I want to hear more! :D
(Seriously...that'd be a good idea for a thread, no?)

I personally don't ever want to own ANY SKS's, this is purely from a personal approach.

your preference is duly noted . now, go hang around with 303carbine. lol.

man, thats funny.... just as funny as 4 US soldiers on a jeep on a very narrow road in vietnam, heard a gun shot, they all got out and picked up the jeep on 4 corners, turned it around and drove off in a hurry.:D

lol where should I post it?

Honestly that's probably the best one he has though. He only served for 2 years.

Another good one is... There was or maybe still is, this training requirement in the PLA, that at night, from the sound of a whistle of the drill sergent/officer, you had 45seconds to get up, makeup the bed, fold the blanket so the corners are sharp, put on the uniform, and line up outside.

And during training, these drills would happen randomly in the middle of the night.

So at first guys were showing up with their buttons one-off, shoe laces untied, and falling all over the place. This guy showed up 2 nights in a roll with his pants on backwards.

Some of the people, including my dad, thought they could cheat the system. They would sleep in their uniforms, socks and shoes.

He said, he will never forget the face of the drill sergent on the first night they did that. They ran out after about 15 seconds of the whistle, the guy was speechless.

The officers figured out pretty quick what they were doing though, and had random checks some nights. Needless to say these guys got in #### for it.

After a while they'd gotten good at sleeping light, and being able to tell if they were going to have a drill that night, by the officers' facial expressions or something. Apparent they had wagers going about it all the time.

After they get up, they would jog or march for 5-10kms. At first some people were actually nodding off as they marched, you could always tell because they would walk right into the person in front of them when the march stops.

Who honestly applies inflation to a used item that they are selling? And something that's only 6 years old at that!?

Inflation applies to things like cost of living and salary increases, realestate and so on. It doesn't apply to small used items like guns.

Another thing is, when you sell a used item, you eat the tax/shipping and other fees that you paid when you bought it. Otherwise, you're charging what the store charged you, PLUS inflation, which is not asking a fair price.

For instance, the moment you drive your shiny new car off the lot, you just lost a few thousand dollars to fees and taxes. You don't turn around and sell it the next day for all of what you paid plus inflation!! Otherwise the guy can go to the dealer and buy it brand new for less

Insanity!

You can add inflation alright. But to be fair, you also should take into account of wear and tear. So in the end, it's pretty much a wash.

Inflation does not apply to the shipping and tax that you paid, as has been done in the previous price justification. When you sell a used item, it's not particularly fair to include the taxes and fees that you paid PLUS inflation on top of that.

I've never even seen that before!

Ever been to a gunshow?
The prices are often worse.

For example a crappy $15 receiver cover scope mount...priced at $95. :puke:

They are worth $600 because those were special selects hand inspected by Chairman Mao.
