SKS D's found for cheaper than in x forum

im sorry pete if i come of sounding like im advocating regulating your freedom to buy and sell as you choose, im not. what im advocating are CGN members to self-regulate ourselves on EE, why ? cos its free and i would to keep it that way so lets not put any more strain onto the system with lots of off market listings.

let me ask you this? would you still list at the lofty price if you have to pay a listing fee on EE (like they do on auction site) ? maybe one week? some members may say , im not gonna waste my money .

No, I don't think you are advocating regulating my freedom. Far from it. But I go back to my earlier post and ask again, HOW will we curb this practice? Self reguation works in a perfect world but obviously is failing here.
I don't pretend to know the answer. I would rather just ignore the few folks who float an inflated price, to test the waters, than have a panel of "experts" judge whether my add fits within the exepted boundaries, in order to allow me to run my add.
No,I don't think listing fees are the direction I would like to go.

I guess it would be nice to have some kind regulation against ridiculous mark up asking prices. It would protect people who don't know any better. Also it would stop over pricing trends. I don't know, maybe have admins who monitor asking prices and contact people who trying to pull a fast one, or maybe set up some kind of sticky thread that would have a "black book" that would provide accurate value ranges for firearms.

CGN is not here to hold members hands so they don't pay too much in the EE. Sounds like you want a "nanny-state" here on CGN.

If adults don't do any research or buy without thinking, too bad.

If members are paying the inflated price, guess what? The free market is working and items are being sold for what they are "worth".

Seller asking too much? Just ignore it!

Why do we respond to this stuff? When I see something that is over used over priced I just click next. I have no care in the world to over priced things. Two things will happen the guy selling will see the light and lowwer his price or put it back in the safe.

90 % of rifles and hand guns on the EE are over priced. NO matter what they are used. If it ain't priced right just click next and keep on shopping.

It is sad to see prices going up and up on milsurps and other firearms no longer being manufactured, but simply ignoring silly "For Sale" ads is the way to go. Even current production rifles sometimes hit the EE for more than I could buy them brand new downtown. It's often driven by emotion - whenever I see an ad with something like "Well, I really love this baby, and I don't really want to sell her, so the prices is...(twice what it's worth)" I always chuckle. If you don't want to sell it, don't.

It's too easy to get caught up in our own feelings about how much things are worth as well however; as buyers. I know guys who swear no Lee Enfield is worth more than fifty bucks, no matter what, cause they could buy them for only $25.00 thirty years ago. Honestly, wake up. Things will usually sell for what they are worth, regardless of if we like it or not. If an SKS D is selling for near the same as a Remington 700 SPS, then I guess that's what they are actually worth, regardless of how I feel about it. But I won't be buying one.

no no, when i said self-regulate i dont mean by a panel of judges, i mean the individual seller himself , not an easy thing to do especially when there are "feelings" involved but research is the key.

This thread makes me laugh, some people here have some weird ideas about how things should be priced. If a gun is on the EE for over a week it is probably overpriced, nobody loses not even the seller.

The fact is that everything is worth what people are prepared to pay. This applies to absolutely everything, not just guns. If you can't understand that you live in cloud cuckoo land.
