SKS duckbill mag...

Try to bear with me here as I try to explain my problem (or at least, what I think is a problem)....
I have a SKS duckbill 5/30 mag and I`m not getting how these are supposed to "lock" into place...I notice the front of the fixed mags (the long part), has a notch that allows it to lock the mag in place....But the duckbill mag doesn`t have this, and as such, the front falls out...See Illustration...

..The small arrow shows this part to be un-notched ie: nowhere to lock this part of the mag into place....I`m missing something obvious here, but what?....

Any ideas?...

Looking at the CGN link, the magazine is supposed to be installed and left in place, then top loaded. Not quickly detachable. Is that how you are trying to use it?

My understanding is that the duckbill mag is detachable...But even if it was meant to to be left in place, what holds the front of magazine in place, with out it falling out?....

I have 2 of the 30/5 mags and had to cut notches into them myself for them to work properly ... just be very careful how much material you cut away or they will be a very sloppy fit.
