I hope this is ok to post on here, if not, please delete. I saw on a sks site on FB that some canadiantire stores sell SKS's. I saw one (I believe it was in Bedford Halifax, but I could be wrong) had Russian SKS's on sale for $150! I don't have a canadiantire in my town, and the canadiantire in the next town doesn't sell firearms. Anybody have a canadiantire selling SKS's for $150 willing to grab me one and send it to me? Yea that was me and yep Bedford NS still have some,,, here is your problem, I have no problem picking a couple up for you but,,, $149.99 then our lovely 15% sales tax and around $40-$45 shipping ( that's what it cost last time i sent a rifle up along for repairs)! So you are right around what they are charging locally!
Not only that, these refurb SKS have been on now for almost 3 weeks and they had almost 60 rifles, they still have lots left, I thought they would be gone long ago. I bought 3 izzys, a 53 and 2, 54's! They are all parkerized and are all tramp stamped by the Russian vodka police! CTC will not advertise firearms and I suppose that is part of it but I have been telling lots of folks and I know there are many more that are snooping for SKS deals! Is the regular SKS market getting saturated? Is it just the collectable SKS that are selling in any numbers now ? That seems to be what's happening here!

He means Molot marked, not the electro penciling of the serial numbers. The Molot is laser etched I believe.
The cheapest I've found them is $230 before taxes. And that's mail order. I don't have any place to buy them locally. So if you can get one for $150 plus 22.50 tax and add the $45 shipping, it still comes to $217.50. Lets call it $220 for easy counting. That's $220 total! I'd be all over that if I could! That's 10 bucks less then the sticker price, and that's when I can even find em for that!! Living in a small town has lots and lots of advantages, but it definitely has a few drawbacks too. Pick out a nice 53 or 54 hardwood from Westrifle. $239 incl shipping. Not much more than CT and you get a much higher quality firearm. Most are unrefurbished (even if it says refurbished in the desc) with no laser engraving. Only neg is the mag pin jobs aren't pretty. Best price on quality right now.
