Hey guys, fairly new to the forum. I signed up ages ago looking for a nearby range and have since moved away.
A few months ago I was cleaning my SKS and had dropped the entire firing pin assembly. Sadly, the extractor came apart and the spring went missing ever since. I've tore the house down multiple times to no avail. I'm having a hard time finding anything online regarding these. I've sourced out a few sites but they all seem to be based in the US. Marstar is out of stock and had been since I lost it. Im wondering if any of you guys know where to source these seemingly impossible to find parts? I've checked all my local gun shops and none seem to have it. I've also gone to all the hardware stores within a 30km radius and none seem to even have a similar sized spring to use as a temporary fix. If I had another SKS laying around I could probably measure it out and find something similar on Amazon but I've no luck at all, not a lot of people I know enjoy hunting or sport shooting.

Thanks!

We stock the Murray springs & all the other hard to find SKS parts, HERE.

Hey HiCal, I appreciate the link! My only issue is 36CAD for a spring seems a little steep. I've sourced one for 2.99+7.99 shipping (US). The only thing is shipping as I'm a little impatient lol. Is there any way you can make a guys day and send me the dimensions and spring constant so I can have one made by the parts guys in the shop I work in?
Thanks!

We can letter ship small parts, call the store, 604 289 4867 10 - 6 Pacific time.

Darn, had I seen the message earlier I would have grabbed a couple. You ended up leading me to Murray's site and I grabbed a couple from him. One to replace the lost one, and another to replace that one since I'm bound to lose it again. I will definitely be checking out your site though HiCal as I'm in the market for a few other upgrades. Particularly I've been eying the Archangel OpForce stock.
Thanks for all the help guys!

WARNING Necro Thread Bump!
Rather than start a new thread, I'll use this old thread instead....

When I was cleaning my SKS last week I had about 1.5 curls of my extractor spring break off. I fully strip the bolt after every single range trip for cleaning and I guess after owning the gun for ~14 years the spring finally got tired and broke. I've already ordered a new extractor spring from Murrays (three actually to offset shipping costs and for future maintenance on the other SKS'). My question is, is there a trick to remove the extractor spring? I tried giving mine a tug, but it seems pretty well secured. I don't see anywhere for a clip, or a pin, so is it just held in with years of grime? Should I just soak the extractor and spring setup in something, or is there a trick I'm missing?

Tracking number says my new springs should arrive this week.... still wondering how to remove my old spring. Beuller?

For anyone else out there that cares, who needs to do the same thing. Soaked the extractor in Hoppes for a few days while I was at work. Still took more of a pull than I would have imagined, but it eventually popped right out. Installed the new spring without issue. Seems crazy the price for a tiny spring, I wish I would have bought a second $75 SKS back in the day just for a full set of spare parts
