SKS feeding issue

Damn my luck with feeding issues.....

Fifth round is not feeding into the chamber. It gets caught and jams between carrier and receiver.

Upon inspection, noticed that the peened portion of the limit bar on the follower is catching the groove on the primer end of the case, flipping it up and jamming.

I was thinking of tacking the mag limit bar to the follower and grinding the peened portion of the bar flush with the follower.

Am I going to catch trouble for modifying the mag like that?

Hmmm...mine occasionally does the same thing, will have to check into that. As for trouble, if it still functions as it did before (limiting the magazine to 5) I really can't see why you can't do that.

Below the bottom round, as it sits in the mag is a little swivel piece. If this is too tight or not freely swiveling, it will hold the last round at the wrong angle for feeding. Put some oil on it and work it until its loose.

^^^^ like he said.. make sure the swivel is working properly, the rounds are not being fed at the right angle due to the swivel sticking
