SKS firing pin issue

Cb750k, I just purchased it and was stripping it down to clean, so this was the first time I noticed it.
Vladivar- that's a great suggestion, thanks, could you point me where to look to pick one up?

Sorry, my comment was directed at Vladivar. I should've quoted his post, I understood from the get go you are breaking it down for the first time. I just think people are quick to fear slam fires with a free floating firing pin, when in reality it's not cleaning your gear properly that's what can trigger as slam fire.
 
once you get it cleaned out proper you wont have to remove it again. Ive shot 500 corrosive rounds out of mine and i always hit it with some wd40 for a while to bust up crud and then blast out the firing pin channel with clorine free brake cleaner. Ive never had to take mine apart as doing this keeps it squeaky clean and free-moving. you might have to scrub out the pin channel with a pipe cleaner to get it nice tho.


The one time i had to take my buddies sks bolt apart we had to soak it in oil first and then whack the retainer pin between 2 pieces of metal on his concrete floor. it was a ##### to get out the first time.
 
As others have said mine was a pain to get out. I had to let it sit in mineral spirits over night and then try again. Wood blocks weren't doing it, to much give, so i set it in a vice and banged it out with a hammer and punch. It was necessary in my case because elite you the firing pin wasn't as free floating as i thought it should be or could be.
