Need to replace the firing pin retainer due to wear. Can’t seem to find the retainer in Canada. Could buy from eBay but rather get it from within Canada if possible.

For the record, mine looks like this, and could cause the firing pin to bind causing slam fire (hasn’t happened to me yet but I am doing preventative maintenance):

Yep, just not properly aligned - you have to start it in the right position cause it doesn't rotate - not supposed to. And make sure the 'notch' of the FP doesn't shift when you strike it. I only hit it once, then check to make sure it'll still 'rattle'.

This is common thing. The retainer gets turned upwards by inertia of the firing pin. The only thing to do is tap it down. If you feel adventurous, then remove it and tap on the tail that contacts extractor a bit to lengthen it. then reinstall. no need to do anything else. Even if you get another retainer it will do the same thing

Thanks gewehr76!

I went back and reseated the retainer. Then used snap caps for dry firing, issue doesn’t seem to be there with the use of snap caps. I presume when a cartridge is seated, the space between extractor and retainer is reduced enough the retainer is not rotating when hammer hits the firing pin.

^ ^ reddit is facebutt for losers. I've looked at s*** people have posted links to and it's lame-azz cra*
