can any one tell is firing pin too long cause this? or something wrong with the firearm?

thanks

  1. Are these surplus rounds?
  2. Can you post a pic of your front bolt face?
  3. Can you post a pic of the firing pin with a rule beside it?

I had the same thing happen a friend's SKS; seems the firing pin profile was a wee bit too sharp and it acted as a cookie cutter on the primer's brass.
I just disassembled the bolt, put the firing pin in a vertical drill and retouched the firing pin tip with a very fine sharpening stone to smoth up its edges.
Don't point up the tip, just round the edges a little bit and it will be fine.
PP.

Note that SKS and AK rifles have flat ended firing pins. In conjunction with hard primers, this reduces the chance of slamfires. Don't be reshaping the tip of the firing pin.
I doubt that there is anything wrong with the firing pin. If you want, you could measure protrusion, but if you do not know the design tolerances, the measurement won't tell you much.

1, yes, we use CZ surplus ammo. but in my other SKS or CZ858 not seen this happend.
2, pics of the front bolt face:

3, for the firing pin pics, I think you want to know the length of the firing pin.

Need to see the measurement of just the pin please. Also if the firing pin is not properly installed in the bolt it could cause this to happen. The good new's is that your bolt face dosn't have any beveled edages were the firing pin is so that looks good. Witch is leading me to believe that ethier the pin is defective/not installed properly or there could be an head space issue. (But I don't think this is the case.)

that length is just the length of the PIN. I use caliper measure the two end of the pin. and compare to my SKS-D's firing pin, almost same length.

If it was mine then I would get the headspace checked just to make sure if the primer pockets are getting prieced.
Also 1 more quick question.
Is this bolt a spring loaded firing pin?
