hey guys, just got back from the range...my gun fires some of the time and other times it just clicks and nothing, also i had to feed one bullet at a time in to make it work. If i put in five at at time the first would fire, the shell would spit out and then just a click and nothing. im gonna clean it once i get all my household chores done but does anyone have an educated guess at what causes that? do u think its my firing pin because sometimes it would just click and when i looked at primer it would barely have a mark on it...

Sounds like the reciever spring was put back in backwards or the trigger asembely is not seated properly.
 
I had the same thing when i bought my sks (now someone else's)

10 out of 40 of the rounds when click no boom, on a second shot they went boom, your firing pin needs to be cleaned and oiled its sticking and thus will not slide well how its sitting.

Clean it and it will fire with no problems
 
I have a cz 858, I love that gun.
When i bought the sks i bought it for 100 bucks, only 60 fired through it, so it was a steal of a deal, when i sold it i sold it for 150.

I thought it might add to my collection but having the cz i found i didn't end up shooting it as much as i thought i would

Don't oil the SKS firing pin. The oil will trap dirt and crud and can gum up the firing pin channel.

Keep it clean and dry.
 
Try removing your firing pin from the bolt. I have had my firing pin "pick up" as many as eight primers, in 130 rounds fired. The pin on my rifle is piercing the primer and then dragging a small circular metal piece back inside the bolt. The only way to get them out is to remove the firing pin and clean the bolt and firing pin.

Really...
Thatz a great way to get an out of battery or slame fire. Get that rifle to a smith and get it onced over because that is a scarey situation.

You are lucky Basher, my chinese not only pierced primers, but also blew back the firing pin. not fun but also wasnt dangerous.:cool:
