SKS for 3 Gun speed reloads

Any tips for speedy reloads with the sks for IPSC.

Nobody uses sks for IPSC. Well looks like I will be cornering the market.

Use stripper clips and practice, thats all you can do.

Get at least 10 dummy rounds and practice reloading with stripper clips.

Personally, I'd shorten them to 5 rounders and mark the end that needs to be insterted in the charger guide.

Don't cut the stripper Clips!
They are a pain in the ass to use.

Just practice using the original 10 rounders.

And yes I have heard of plenty of people using SKS's in such matches.
One guy I talked to even dressed up in VC garb, and a straw hat.

Stripper Clips

I use an SKS in 3 gun matches and use the original stripper clips but on one end I wrap duct tape and make a thick ball or grip area. That way you can only insert them one way and can usually grab them from your belt without looking. It least you can say you use a gun with a real caliber instead of the 223s.

Stripper clips don't work so well in the CZ858. The stripper guide seems too wide and the stripper keeps coming out. Anyone else had this occur to them?

IMO, 5 rounds rattling around on the full size stripper is a bigger pain in the ass. YMMV, of course.

Duct taped to five rounds and grounded the loading edge with a dremel for faster fit.

Totally Red and Green. Looking for additional suggestions.

No it doesn't. However it's impossible to use a stripper to load 6 in an SKS as the last round is not in the mag and the bolt tries to pick up #5.

If you use your third hand to hold the rounds down so the bolt picks up the loose round, it'll work.
