SKS for $600?

But this is the firearms COMMUNITY, people are supposed to be aholes for no apparent reason. For a group that is bound together by a common interest, there sure are some pretty sour attitudes online, at the range and at gun counters across the country.
 
FYi and not to derail the thread.
I'm not a collector and don't know the history but i THINK there were some Mosins at the CT Chilliwack location for around $800 along with the rest for $200ish. They all look like normal 91/30s to me, not snipers. The labelling was by hand and very bad hand writing at that.
May be significant, like these '49 SKSs....??
 
I bought a 49 at Canadian Tire in Leduc, a couple years back for $179.00, I think it is a bigger POS worse than any other one that I have had over the years. I would not pay any more than that.

I believe those were the K98s in the back row for $890? Although they were talking about getting some Mosin snipers in, so I could be completely wrong....

That is your opinion alone. And if you have not noticed, there is no more surplus rifles other than odds and ends of Russian vintage. Nobody cares if its not your thing.
 
Call me an ahole if you want but '#####ing' about a price before doing any sort of research deserves any response it gets. I apologize if I read it in a wrong way. Maybe I just see too much of the 'online shaming' threads that seem to always backfire.

The firearms community must be one of the few where asking a question is considered #####ing. And people on here chant about unifying the gun community? Forget about it. A person can't even come on here and ask a question for the sake of gaining some knowledge.
 
Totally agree there are lots of sour attitude. Can under the no compromise for safety. I spend way too much time on CGN yet learn something new.

Did you even read the OP. It was the proper way to ask a question. State the facts? Ask what is the difference. Boys and Girls, this is how to ask questions.

To the OP: As you've read the '49s are the most sought after. They're rare to see, especially these days. I have one from Westrifle. It's a beauty. It's my 3rd gun from them.

It' s a very rare SKS , the only one with this serial ;)

Seriously , Just buy cheapest one you can find and shoot a lot with the rest of the money ! HAPPY SHOOTING.
