SKS found in a river.. amazing restoration

Found in a river and what looks like the stock serial number chiseled off the left side of the butt...hmmmm.....

So now old Billy will be sending his cronies to scour the lakes and riverbeds looking for our guns that we lost in all those canoe tipovers and boating accidents.

Nice!
Calibre Magazine had an article some years ago in which they tested an SKS to see what it would take to get it to fail.
I think the bomb blast made it inoperable, but not the fire or the maple syrup.

I like the looks of this water damaged SKS. I am thinking about packing an SKS full of grease and allowing it to suffer a canoe accident for a few years in order to enjoy the patina.

Why 'worry'. you don't own any Milsurps? Do they keep you up at night? ;) & Mike, man, you're slippin'.

"worry" probably the wrong word. I maybe compelled to offer it up for a proper forensic investigation though. yeah ive got a few milsurps, but im not talking about war-time bodies lol.

many here have lost them in Canoe accidents
I tipped my Enfield out of a canoe once but a piece of stove pipe and Saran Wrap with duct tape as a reverse perascope and a pocket fisherman and it was found in 15 feet of water. It had one up the throat though (safety on) so it has hooked on the sling just in case by my buddy's. I was tucked in a sleeping bag warming up. I learned to put a lanyard of some sort on after that but fortunately never needed it. And I did have on a Mustang Floater Coat on as well.
