Just purchased 2 Tula 1954r SKS rifles from Wholesale Sports in Naniamo BC. They sold the first at 199.99 $CDN and the second at 209.99$CDN. I was told the higher price of the second one was due to them being (steam cleaned), REALLY? These rifle show now signs of cosmoline, they are in a condition that I would say was new(never used), laminate stock with fresh varnish, near perfect bluing, some small little nicks in the stock, re-furb stamp on the stock, with quality control stamp marks in most places on the rifle. They are covered with light oil. I stripped one down, gave it a good look over, nice chromed barrel, and refiling, and pumped 20 rounds through it. They say they have less than 10 left, and have pulled the listing for SKS and surplus ammo from their website. also bought a 1200 round case of M43 7.62x39 corrosive ammo at the same time. I wish I had more money to spend as would likely have bought anther or two. Very satisfied.

If it was free of cosmoline, and the stock was also free of cosmoline, then an extra 10$ seems fair. Dumping boiling water on the metal parts is quick and easy, so not worth 10$. They would of had to disassemble the whole gun for a proper cleaning, something i doubt a Canadian tire employee can do... sounds fishy.

But a good gun and fair price none the less.

SKSs do offer alot of bang for the buck......I purchased three Tulas with laminate stocks from the Gun Dealer in N.B. for 150 each plus tax in Jan. ; they were all matching number except for their gas tubes....I regret not buying a couple more as the problems in Ukraine may affect the supply of these Tula SKSs into Canada , and at 150 each , they were a great deal and i received great service from the guys at the Gun Dealer........
