I thought it might be helpful to new owners of SKS's if we posted the height of our front sights, from base to tip, of our SKS rifles with factory front sights that are shooting correctly for elevation at 100 yards. With my rear sight set at 100 yards, and my front sight 7 mm high, my SKS is hitting one inch high at 100 yards, with Sellier & Bellot commercial non-corrosive soft points, 123 grain. With Ruag-imported US 125 grain commercial ammo, it's hitting dead on. Those of you that are grouping well at 100 yards, can you take a minute to measure the height of your stock Russian front sights and post it on here? I'm wondering if it varies from SKS to SKS, or if 7mm front sight height is the correct number?
