SKS Gas Tube Coming Loose

Well just like it says guys, the pin that holds my gas tube cover on my SKS-D is very loose and pops out at will.

Any replacements?


Canadian tire, Rona, Home Depot? Sizes measurements?

I'll add a photo tommorow when I get up.

You know I just had the hardest of times getting one of those out, but really all that pin is is a chunk of wire with a flared end. You can replace it by getting the proper size wire and just cut it a bit too long. rest one side against something and squish the wire with pliers or a small press to flare the one end again.

Actually this is the best idea I have heard in a while. Time to head to the local electrical shop.
