SKS gas tube.

I bought a really nice looking SKS from CT 2 weeks ago,tonight I removed the gas tube to start cleaning her down and found this:



I am hoping that they will exchange the rifle tomorrow as I can't find the damned receipt for the thing,this is my first dodgy gas tube so far.

Some Canadian Tire stores record rifle sales in a ledger , they may have a record of you buying it at their store......if they did record it , you may not need the receipt......

That port is not an issue. Some of the tubes were made by a different method and I have seen many with this port. It is behind the piston face. The same as the 2 little holes. It will just allow for the air being compressed behind the piston to be expelled. Some have this some don't.

I have a few this way. Normal. And, will not affect function.

I kind of thought it may not affect it as it is behind the piston,just prefer to be safe when it comes to firearms.

You're good. Don't sweat that lil hole. CT won't do squat without a receipt anyways.

It's a 53 Tula from CT in Leduc.
Won't be selling her as I only have 2Ruskie SKS's,and one Chinese military SKS so far,need another few to fill my other cabinet and keep them company lol.
