SKS genealogy PTRS-41 14.5x114mm

Neat! Is there a muzzle brake on it? What thickness of armor could this pierce?

It'd say something about 25mm at 200-300 meters. It could easily penetrate APC's such as BMP or BTR. I shot the thing at an old BTR (don't remember which model it was). Rounds were getting through side armor and set old crap that was inside on fire. It'll probably go in and out through something like a HUMVEE, Ukrainian army has lots of those now. It renders non armored vehicle useless with one shot if engine is hit. Like I said before, now rifles get scopes and have way better chances of hitting a target than during WW2. AP incendiary rounds are pretty nasty and can take out lightly armored vehicle no problem. 3-4 rounds go in and you have a fire inside.

Cool, who sells them in Canada?

I haven't seen any retailers ever sell those things. There is a PTRD for sale on EE right now. I remember seeing someone on here selling couple of rifles last year but it went really fast. I highly doubt we will see any PTRS/PTRD for sale unless owners decide to part with it. Russia and Ukraine still have large stocks of WW2 firearms. Ukraine probably had even more than Russia because business of selling WW2 dewats and converted BFONG's was booming there before war started. They were even selling land-lease stuff like Thompson's. Now Russia is under sanctions and Ukraine is at war, so yea.
