SKS handgaurd

I have two SKS norincos.

The one handgaurd is pinned like i have read here on CGN but the other has no pin to drive out. It looks like it is welded or presed onto the gas tube. Have any of you encountered this before? How do you go about getting it off do you think?

I've never seen a welded one before.
Yah might have to replace the gas tube.

suppose to be pinned so hg can be changed easily should it need replacing.

Some are simply impossible to drive out with a punch. You can always try drilling though it, or better yet, leave it stock.

The ends of the pin are peened. This prevents the pin from falling out but makes punching it through a little more difficult.
