SKS handguard removal

for SKS handguard removal, i know that you have to punch out a retaining pin, but which side do i punch out from? we're talking about a chinese factory 26 sks here...thx.

I believe mine taped out from right side if you are looking at it.Also check to see wich side looks more flatened.

I couldn't tell which end was the head and which was peened-over end, so I drilled it out. I started with a 1/16" and worked up to the point where the whole thing could be tapped out.
