Hi guys,

Do you check always the headspace when buying a new sks?
If i want to bought a new bolt, do you have a homemade idea to check the headspace of my new bolt?

my "homemade" idea when it comes to headspace is a trip to the gunsmith. let the professionals determine that for safety reasons. i'm not afraid to tinker with alot of things on my guns but headspace is not one of them. that's just me.
 
Headspace on an SKS is not usually an issue. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find one that wasn't within the proper range. Anytime I buy a milsurp I inspect the cases after first firing. That will tell you a lot

i do agree with your post, however the OP was asking about buying a "new bolt", so that's where my trip to the gunsmith comment comes in, it's not an original for that gun and i'm no headspace expert.
 
It's a loose tolerance Soviet military surplus rifle.

They were designed like all other military weapons to interchange parts easily with no problems whatsoever.

It's not a $6000 custom forged Anschutz target rifle lolol

You can check the headspace by putting another 5 rounds in her and shooting it because there isn't going to be a problem.
