I finally got some spare time to spend on my SKS project...
And here it is ... it will be my small game & deer gun for this season..

Now all you have to do is locate some X39 SP ammo. Non available in the five shops in this town.

Closes I cud find was 223 JHP for $40 a box (20).

I got the deflector that fits on the rear sight, but i am having difficulties installing it... the cutout that hooks on to the bar seems to be too small..it doesn't want to position properly . Anyone had same problem??

I just did almost the same thing with my SKS using the ATI stock. It was murder to fit the stock and I'm not a fan of the SKS side rail for mounting POSP optics. I had just zeroed her last weekend when it went off way left for now good reason... then the Mrs. asked " are the shiny things supposed to be hitting the scope ". I've seen pics that show the Mosin Nagant mount sticks out about 1cm the goes down the outside of the stock so you don't have to cut out so much material. I'm really interested to see how your shell deflector works out man, even with the offset I think I'll be laying down the extra 10bux for one. It's heartbreaking to get a 2.5 inch group with an SKS then have you're brand new 260$ ( with shipping ) optic mangled by brass flying about.
