I took an SKS on trade and have tried surfing around but am not 100% sure what I have. I think it's a Russian/Tula factory refurb? The date stamp is "1955r" and it looks like the original serial number on the stock has been X-ed out and a new one stamped. It also looks like a laminated stock version so I'm thinking it's (retail) value is about $200 (?). I know nothing about these rifles so pardon me if the answer is simple!:p

Hi,

You are correct. It is a Tula 1955. But it is wood stock, not laminated. Hope it helps.

At least that's what the bolt cover says. ;) No guarantee in a refurb. I've got an one with as Ishvesk bolt cover and a Tula star on the stock.

And yes, retail rate is $200 with all accessories and low shot count. They'll go on sale for lower once in a while.
