An info would be appreciated. I was hoping to get one with a laminated stock as well and where to find them but what Id also like to know is how are the magazines limited to 5 rounds? I heard a rumor they are welded somehow? I was hoping theyd use the plug in the folowe arms spring much like the norincos, limiting capacity but not permanently butchering the gun. Thanks for any replies guys and merry Xmas!

Thanks guys

There are some floating around on the EE from the original IZH-Impex importation. That is what you are looking for from your description. Both of the Bell,Lever,West Rifle, and 2nd IZH-Impex importations have all been frankenpinned, with renumbered on the side mags. Which for a shooter or rare version is really no big deal,I'd have to say.

Russian SKS

The one I got had a round plug, welded, to the bottom. Looks like a good job, but I have not seen others to compare to.

This is the way it is done nowadays. I wish we could pin them in Canada our way but we can't it has to be done overseas. They do it the cheapest way possible. As a dealer I have no control over that. May be after my fourth container I will. I am still researching a better way to do that, plus it has to be up to Firearms Canada standard.

What does the origin matter. Just saying if your looking for different way to have a mag pinned, that is a good one.

Possibly those Chi-Coms were done here, like the first IZH-Impex batch. Funny thing about the frankenpinning ,is that it is actually harder to do then the way Epps came up with.

Marstar sells covers you can pin it the way you like. Talk to John and he can help you. The way mine pinned is the only one approved from origin. Sorry

Must be pinned to 5 rounds by law of Canada

Wouldn't have the original serial number...

Well sorry to know that your pinned that way. Many are welded to the cover. What I meant is you can buy the cover and pin it the way you like.
:agree:

you are missing the point . buying a new mag cover and repinning it, wont bring back the original serial numbers back on the bottom of the mag.

Not entirely correct. Frankenpinning is the only way they seem to want to do them offshore. Not the only way that is legal for importation to Canada.
