New 1954 sks i put on a ati stock before shooting, no matter how many rounds i put in it always jams the last one. Wont do it manuely only when shooting, any ideas?

Also wondering if a tapco mag will only work with tapco stock?

Thanks

Does your follower tilt pretty freely ?, mine was doing the same thing on a regular basis, i took a shot in the dark thinking there could be some dirty cosmo in there so i put some bore cleaner on the little pin, then poured boiling water through it and its been fine since.

It moves freely and has been cleaned well, i also read that it could be out of alighment tried adjusting from one side to the other with no change, the spring seems tight. Tried oiling too

you are using the tapco mag ?

do the feed ramp mod , before i do this i have many jam , after this mod no problem just look where the bullet block

Take the fixed mag out and put it back in it could because its not in correctly. I had the fixed mag fall out because it wasn't in just right.

what kind of jam is coming out? strawberry or raspberry? have you tried peanut butter?

or are you experiencing a FTF? are you experiencing a FTE? it sounds magazine related, get a different magazine and try again.

Most likely something off with feed lips not holding the round down in a proper horizontal position. With it being the last round there is nothing keeping it from squirming out.

Tried my buddys mag, hes never had a issue and when i put it in my gun it jams ha, same ammo, same frequency of jams, same random jamming. One thing i noticed is the pin for my trigger assembly that holds the mag in moves to one side from firing, i can just tap it back into postion when i remove the trigger, tried super gluing the pin in place, didnt work. Is this pin supposed to float? Could it be applying uneven pressure to the mag?

So I tried using my sks with the wooden stock, still stovepiping. The trigger assembly pin couldnt move from side to side like it can in my ati stock but didnt make a difference.

Maybe the action is catching the last round as its ejecting the second to last pulling the round into the vertical postion and slaming into the reciever? I cant beleave there are no experts out there that havnt figured this out already.

I live in a no service area, i do it all on a tablet. So i cant post pics but if u dm me an address i can email them. But i have compared mags with other guys and i cant see a difference. My mag works in other guns and there mags jam in mine.

The mags really tough to install in the gun? or it go in relatively easily?

Try putting the gun together without the stock and see if it looks like the mag is fitting right.

can you try to use another bolt and bolt carrier in your stock with your magazine. you have to eliminate possibilities one at a time.

First I tried somethings with the mag, bent the follower from left to right, all that did was change the orentation of the round when jamed. Adjusted the left feed lips from tighter to losser. Used my helmet cam at 60 fps to take a slo-mo video and found two distorted frames, one with the action coming back after the second to last and the last bullet was 90% out and on an angle the next frame was it stovepiped and the action 1/2 forward. I took my buddys flawlessly working sks and started changing parts out, first the mag, then the recoil spring still jamed, then the bolt and carrier (Using me recoil spring) and it worked great, 1 out of 90. And my buddys jamed with my action. I ordered a bolt and carrier from sksman and will see how that goes.
