Ok guys, I have a nice little sks that i'd love to shoot but it's way too short for me. Where can I get some sort of extension to extend the stock. I hear there are some stock pads or something?

I have a rubber slip on pad that gives me another 1 3/4" lop, its held in with the two butt plate screws. I have no idea what brand it is as it has no markings.

Are there any LOP add ons in the 3-4 inch size without looking too weird. Being 6'5" and having knuckles that drag on the ground when I walk , I find the SKS is very short.

you sir need an archangel or tapco stock with adjustable LOP and even the shortest length is much longer than original stock

I can see the Chi-Com types being short stocked for the Asian build but why the Soviet models as well?

I have a Tapco intrafuse and fully collapsed is slightly shorter than the original stock and fully extended is maybe 2.5" longer.

You may need to adjust your shooting stance as well, even with a long extension. Instead of using the shotgunner stance, try squaring your shoulders up to the target. It pushes your shoulder ahead and makes the short LOP seem much more reasonable. With a +2" pad and the square stance I can't imagine anyone having many problems with the SKS.

Everybody was pretty short 70 years ago and the Soviets were planning on fighting with thick winter gear on.

Yep different stock would be your best bet. Also you must have very long arms for your knuckles to be dragging on the ground.

Both Chinese and Russian SKS have the same LOP. They have to be one size fits all, the M4 carbine hadn't even been pondered by the time the SKS ceased production in the USSR. A short LOP is easier to deal with than too long. Square your shoulders and if you still need an extension plenty have been mentioned.

Remember back then times were really rough. Most of us nowadays couldn't imagine living in the conditions these people survived. Food was rationed. It was a minimal existence at best. Nutrition was poor and not conducive to growing the larger statures we have in the West now.
