SKS magazine pin...

Would it be a good idea to summarize all the different pin type, photo included, and make it a sticky in the Red Rifle forum ?

Ok I've been pondering this for a bit and I'm gunna come out with it now. The mag body is what is restricted right so how is it that a welded follower is legal BUT the body itself is still at max cap... In any other mag this would cause you to have a prohib device upon cleaning so shouldn't this be true with the sks

My sks mags

Russian has a large rivet and a cylinder.
Chinese has a ak 5/30 mag but i cant pull the bolt back easily (gotta yank it) with more then 4 though.

And then my tapco.

My recent purchased 1952 Russian SKS hardwood 'select grade' from Tradeex also has the external rivet and internal cylinder. Honestly, it's not as nice overall (stock and metal parts) as my 1954 from Westrifle that came with 'tastefully internal pinned' magazine without an external rivet. My purchase with Tradeex costs a little less though so it is still a decent purchase.

Mine is Frankenpinned with a bad paint job to try and cover it.
I also made a small mod to mine to ensure only 5 rds are loaded from the stripper clips.
Otherwise a 6th rd can come off which you had to shake out and put back on the clip.

Drill and tap a hole for a set screw just under the follower lift area.
Might as well make it work right if I have to have it in there.

I'm waiting for westrifle pinned SKS to come, now I got steel plug welded to the bottom and it allows to put 5 rounds in from the stripper clip, but 5th round goes into chamber and there no way I can press it down and have 5 rounds in magazine and empty chamber. Normally ordinary SKS is supposed to keep 10 round in magazine with empty chamber - standard army safety thing.
Do you guys can have 5 rounds in and no round in chamber?
