I hope this is not a repeat thread.I just received a tapco magazine 5/20 for my SKS.It was used by a friend before he gave it to me and it plenty dirty.I would like to a clean it but when I look online it only has the disassembly method for the regular mags. Mine has a plastic bottom that blocks me from accessing the ``tab`` to take disassemble.Any hints or tips guys¨? Cheers

Old post, i know, but i have wondered the same thing. My thoughts were that is was a canadian mod to make it harder to access whatever block or pin they put in to make it a 5 rounder, not sure if anyone else has gotten the bottom cover off short of breaking/cutting it off.

Make a small hole between the "o" and "u" in taco USA on the bottom plate of the mag. This will give u access to the tab. Just push up, slide the plate forward and you're good to go.

Thanks It worked great. Cleaned and ready for the bush/range again. Mn that thing was dirty. Must be all that corrosive I run through her.

A little off topic, but anybody know who has stock/best price on these tapco mags? I bought a few from hy.caps in the past but he has been "shut down". I even bought a 5/40rd from him, would love to get my hands on one of those again, looked sweet!

Will the Tapco mags work with the original wooden stock? or will it only work with the aftermarket synthetic stock?
Thanks

The wooden stock may need to be modified to accept the Tapco magazine, or so I've been told. It fits fine in my stock as well as a few of my friends ('54 Tula, M59, and Type 56).
