Hey, just curious. I just got my first SKS used from the EE. Took it out to the range today shoots good although high and right, but thats a whole other story. So I brought it home, stripped it down took everything apart and cleaned it out with some boiling water through the barrel bore chamber, gas system etc.. dried it all up and put it back together. Now my question is what should I oil/grease and what should be dry? From what I can tell bold and carrier tracks should be greased, gas tube should be dry, firing pin dry. Anything else need to be oiled? How about the op-rod and spring? Should they be cleaned with hot water and soap? When reassembled should they be oiled or greased? They appear to be when I took them out.
Thanks all!
