Sks mc-5d

I bought an odd sks this weekend it's all matching blonde monte carlo stock with a butt pad. Made by norinco dated 1994 it's maybe the nicest finished sks I've seen. And takes AK pattern mags no bayonet or place for one. Does anyone know much about them? Are they very common etc... any input appreciated. Thanks!

Mc-5d stands for monte carlo - 5 round detachable magazine. They use the standard sks mag release apparently anything over 5 rounds will cause the mag to fall out. Which isn't a problem in Canada.
