Sks muzzle brakes

A muzzle brake is wasted on an sks.

The 7.62x39 has barely any felt recoil in a carbine as heavy as the sks. Similarly the weight at the fore end (even without a bayonet) mitigates muzzle rise, even during rapid fire.

They look cool, though.

I highly recommend pin on brakes like the Matador Hammerhead or even the cheaper 3 slotted one offered by NCstar. Both mitigate recoil and muzzle jump on the SKS quite well.

Fair warning tho... the Hammerhead brake makes the gun punishing to the ears.

But yet these same guys ^^ will probably put a muzzle brake on a .223 lol.

Dont let the nay sayers influence you, the gun fires a 123gr projectile at 2300fps.... it has recoil. U can choose to do something about it at the expense of increasing the report of the gun, or u can just accept and use it as is like these guys have...

Next, muzzle break on a 30-30 lever

The only thing I have a brake on is an svt40, so yeah no I wouldn’t bother with one on an sks. It’s not needed, x39 recoil in a semi auto is minimal.

The brake on the SVT is not needed as well. But it sure can be nice to have. Especially if ur going to be slamming 100s of rounds thru it.

Well, just bcuz I have nothing else to do. I dug up a SKS muzzle break. AK 74 style I believe. ¿. Pretty sure I paid $20 for it. Nowadays = $40+.

Agreed, it’s not needed but I don’t want to modify it from its original form. It’s pretty damn light shooting but it would be nice to bring the decibel level down. I double up on ear pro if I’m shooting it.
