Were SKS tested for accuracy when they were refurbished, before they were stored away? I recently bought three Russian SKS and each one shoots very differently.
I shoot them in rotation on the same day and use the same ammo, starting with 20 rounds at 25 yards then 20 at 50 yards, finally 10 rounds at 100 yards. So far: my 1950 Tula gets three inch groups at 25yds, 6'' at 50 and 12'' at 100yards (I am a new shooter with old eyes) my 1954 Izhevsk gets 5'' at 25, 10'' at 50 and 24'' at 100 my 1952 Tula gets 10'' at 25yards and 24'' at 50yards, I have not bothered to shoot it at 100 (it is my best looking rifle with a very nice stock, real bluing and a polished bayonet, maybe it was used for parade or drilling and bayonet use has bent the barrel?). Is getting an accurate SKS a matter of chance or do they all have to be tightened up and accurrized?
