SKS- noodle barrel

Went back to the wood stock. I need to stare at the ATI stock for a bit to see if there's anything I can do. I'm thinking some bedding in the fore stock,a cross bar like the original stock has and snug things up at the rear of the receiver. I've never done any of that before, but I'm handy. It ain't rocket surgery!, but please if anyone has attempted this before, feel free to chime in.

Never had an accuracy problem like that with my 51 Tula in a Tapco stock. I was getting good groupings at a 100 yards last time I had it out. Just need to get the mag to feed properly now.

SKS's seem luck of the draw.

I have a heavily used one from wholesale sports. Dead reliable always goes bang but super loose fitting parts and 6"-8" groups at 100 yards, good for 3 or 4 out of 5 shots into a 8 inch gong at 100 yards. Hot or cold has no noticeable effect on groups. And ive put 500 rounds through this thing in a few hours before so it go really warm.

I have a looks brand new super tight fitting one I got from corwin arms, shoots 3" groups at 100, put 55 rounds in a row into a 8" gong at 100 yards once just to see if I could, probably could of kept going and hitting but got tired of holding the rifle(was shooting offhand). This one seems to tighten up a little when warm, shooting from a rest I once shot a less than 2" group, twice in a row, when it was hot enough to evaporate water off the barrel(it was raining)

I have six SKS rifles and not even my Yugoslavian M59/66 with a cracked stock and a pitted bore shoots 6 inches at 50 yards. Then again, I don't 'mod' my guns. My Chinese carbine, which I've been using roughly for four years now and has around 10k rounds though it, still is accurate enough to kill 500ml and 750ml water bottles from the sitting or prone position at 100 yards with boring regularity. Hot barrel or cold, doesn't matter.

But that's just me.
